A quarter has recently claimed that steps are being taken to recruit about 1,000 posts in the police force in the neighboring state of West Bengal. Sources said that the matter was discussed in the state cabinet earlier this month. The court claimed that discussions have been held in the new police stations. The eight police stations and three outposts planned under the Barrackpore Police Commissionerate will create about 600 vacancies, both full-time and part-time. There has also been talk of turning a few more outposts into police stations. There will also be appointments of different ranks. In all, about 1,000 posts will be filled, sources said. However, the matter has not been officially announced yet.
